Data and APIs

The Leip­zig Uni­ver­si­ty Libra­ry ope­ra­tes various APIs to make data available. The fol­lo­wing inter­faces are curr­ent­ly offered:

IIIF — Inter­na­tio­nal Image Inter­ope­ra­bi­li­ty Framework

Access to digi­ti­sed ver­si­ons of public domain works, usual­ly CC0 or CC PD mark. Data are out­put as JSON-LD and as fle­xi­ble access to pixel data (JPEG).

OAI-PMH — Open Archi­ves Initia­ti­ve Pro­to­col for Meta­da­ta Harvesting

Coll­ect and pro­vi­de meta­da­ta (URN, METS/MODS).

SRU — Search Retrie­ve via URL

Search for biblio­gra­phic meta­da­ta via HTTP. The data is pro­vi­ded as XML.

Net­work pro­to­col for retrie­ving biblio­gra­phic metadata.


The pro­vi­si­on of all data is sub­ject to the con­di­ti­ons of the Open Digi­tiza­ti­on Poli­cy of the UB Leipzig.
